DALLAS -- Semyon Varlamov has mastered beating the Dallas Stars. Adrian Wilson Youth Jersey . Varlamov made 41 saves in the Colorado Avalanches 4-3 victory Monday night and beat the Stars for the fourth straight time. Alex Tanguay scored the winning goal early in the third period, and Varlamov made it stand up despite the best efforts of rejuvenated Stars scoring leader Tyler Seguin. Colorado led twice, but both times Seguin scored to tie the game. Seguin has 23 goals this season, but had not scored in 13 games. He also had an assist on Jamie Benns first-period goal. Varlamov stopped Seguin twice during a third-period power play with the score tied. "On Jamies cross-crease pass, (Seguin) had about 18 inches of open net," Stars coach Lindy Ruff said. "He just pushed the puck back into the goalies pads." Varlamov knew he was challenged on that play. "(Seguin) is a good player. Hes got a tough shot. Hes pretty skilled. Hes always dangerous, especially when were penalty killing." The goalie also stopped Seguins drive from the left faceoff circle as the Avalanche killed the penalty. Just 19 seconds later, at 4:13 of the third, Tanguays shot from low in the left circle hit a skate, possibly Dallas defenceman Sergei Gonchars, and skidded past Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen for the 4-3 lead. "It wasnt pretty," Tanguay said, "but those things happen. I had (teammate Paul Stastny) at the corner of the net. If it doesnt hit something else, it probably goes in with him." Colorados Nathan MacKinnon scored on the games first shot. Jamie McGinn also scored in the first period, and Stastny connected on a power play in the second. "The first five minutes," Ruff said. "After that, we dominated. Their goalie stole the show. "We had five or six point-blank chances in the second to blow the game apart. He was there and he made some great saves." Maxime Talbot and Gabriel Landeskog had two assists apiece for the Avalanche. Alex Goligoski assisted twice for Dallas. The Avalanche won two of three games on a road trip that ended Monday. The Stars had won their previous three games by a 14-1 combined margin. MacKinnon scored after a shot was knocked down in front. The puck went to him just to the left of the goal, and he tapped in a shot before Lehtonen could slide across to that side. Lehtonen had allowed only one goal in 67 shots during the three previous games. Colorado scored again at 15:57 of the first period. After blocking a shot by Dallas Alex Chiasson in their end, the Avalanche attacked. Lehtonen stopped Matt Duchenes shot, but McGinn took the rebound in front and flipped a backhand into the top of the net. The Stars cut their deficit to 2-1 just 1 1/2 minutes later. Colorado tried to clear from behind the net, but Seguin retrieved the puck on the left wing boards and dropped it to Benn in the faceoff circle. His wrist shot beat Varlamov upstairs for Benns 20th goal. Seguin tied the game 2-2 with a 4-on-3 power play at 1:02 of the second period. Benn passed from the right circle across to Seguin, who beat Varlamov on the short side. "It felt good," Seguin said, "like I lost the monkey off my back for sure, getting that goal." The goal extended Dallas streak to eight games with a power-play goal (10 total). The Avalanche regained the lead on Stastnys power-play goal at 17:57. The Stars had successfully killed 16 consecutive penalties before that. Dallas tied 16 seconds later, when Seguin sent a drive from the right circle under Varlamovs right arm. "That was my goal," Varlamov said. "I could have moved a little bit, so I was not happy about it. I tried to regroup for myself and get ready for the third period. The third period was huge for us." He faced a total of 13 shots from the Stars two leading scorers, eight by Benn and five by Varlamov. "Hes having a great year," Benn said, "and had another good game tonight." NOTES: A big difference between third-place Colorado and fifth-place Dallas is that the Avalanche are 13-5-2 within the Central Division, and the Stars are 6-9-5. . Tanguay has points in six of his last seven games against the Stars. . MacKinnon has four goals and two assists in his last five games. He and Dallas Valeri Nichushkin are 1-2 in scoring among rookies. . Goligoski has seven assists in the last four games, 10 in the last eight. . Benn has three goals and five assists in the last five games. . Seguin has four goals and four assists against Colorado this season. . The season series concluded with the Avalanche 4-1 and Dallas 1-3-1. Hakeem Butler Youth Jersey . -- Conor Casey scored two goals, his first of the season, as the Philadelphia Union beat Chivas USA 3-0 on Saturday night. Byron Murphy Jersey . "I could have been equipment manager but nooooo" from Lisa on Ice. Season 6, Episode 8. http://www.thecardinalsshoponline.com/by...jersey-en/ . Radulov scored the lone goal in the shootout, and the Predators edged the Minnesota Wild 2-1 on Tuesday night to reach 100 points for the second time in three seasons and fourth in seven.SAN JOSE, Calif. - A night after giving San Jose an opening to the Pacific Division title by winning in Anaheim, the Nashville Predators might have closed it up again by beating the Sharks. Patric Hornqvist had two goals and one assist to help the Nashville Predators put a major dent into San Joses hopes for a division title by beating the Sharks 3-0 on Saturday night. "Its a missed opportunity," defenceman Dan Boyle said. "Nashville went into their building and did their job. Unfortunately, we didnt do ours to take advantage of that." Backup Carter Hutton made 35 saves in his first career shutout and Roman Josi also scored as the Predators kept their slim playoff hopes alive by beating winning road games on back-to-back nights against Anaheim and San Jose — the top two teams in the Pacific Division. Nashville is six points behind Dallas for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with four games remaining. "Were never going to give up," Hornqvist said. "Its a long road to make the playoffs. But as long as we have a chance, were going to work as hard as we can. Obviously beating two great teams is nice. I think both of them can win the Cup. Its a good statement for our team." The Predators win in Anaheim on Friday kept the Sharks just a point behind the Ducks in the standings but San Jose couldnt capitalize two nights after an emotional home win over Los Angeles. Now the Sharks are running out of time to catch the Ducks after falling flat again against a team likely to miss the post-season. They have only three games remaining, including their next contest in Anaheim on Wednesday, but the Ducks still have five games remaining and the inside track on the division title. San Jose is assured of at least second place. "After the game we put together against L.A. to give a showing like that is unacceptable," defenceman Jason Demers said. "We didnt come out to work. We just sat back on our heels and let them take the game to us. Its disappointing and something were going to have to obviously rectify as quick as possible here. Adrian Wilson Jersey. " If the Sharks do end up falling short in the division it will be their play at home against some of the leagues also-rans that will be a big reason. San Jose has lost five home games since the Olympic break, all to teams that are currently out of playoff position. "Were in a race and we have to be better than that," captain Joe Thornton said. The Predators took control of the game in a dominant second period, killing off a pair of penalties and beating Antti Niemi three times. Hornqvist struck early in the period when he whacked at a rebound of Matt Cullens shot and knocked it in to extend his goal-scoring streak to four games. He added his eighth goal in the past 11 games midway through the period just after Nick Spaling came out of the penalty box. Spaling got the puck behind San Joses net and set up Hornqvist for a one-timer from the slot for his 20th goal of the season. Hornqvist then got an assist a few minutes later when Josi beat a flat-footed Demers as he drove to the net to make it 3-0. "We were emotionally not attached to the game in the second period," coach Todd McLellan said. "Were at Game 79 and the details and the system play, you should be able to do it in your sleep at this point. We didnt do that." The Sharks pressured in the third with 19 shots and two others from Brent Burns and Matt Irwin that hit posts but couldnt beat Hutton. The Predators have put together an impressive late-season run with points in seven of their past eight games. But it likely wont be enough to overcome a 1-4 homestand after the Olympic break that put Nashville in a deep hole. "This team wont quit," coach Barry Trotz said. "It hasnt quit all year. Its not going to quit. They will play right until the end. We see when the smoke clears where we stand." NOTES: Nashville swept the three-game season series and has won nine of 14 against the Sharks. ... The Sharks last overcame a 3-0 deficit in the regular season on Feb. 1, 2011, when they rallied for a 5-3 win over Phoenix.
